Three teams, five games and three days of play. Nevada softball played Idaho State, Seton Hall University and Univeristy of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. March 4 through 6. They won their two games on March 5 but lost the three other games of the tournament.

The women played Pacific once and beat them 9–3. Pacific was first to get runs and that started in the third inning. Two runs were scored but Nevada came back strong in the next inning. Danielle Lew hit a double and then a single by Tatum Maytorena ran Lew in to put Nevada on the scoreboard. A throwing error let Maytorena score and the game was tied 2–2.

Three doubles were hit in a row and Nevada put three more runs on the board, making the score 5–2 going into the fifth inning. Pacific hit a batter and walked the next at the start of the fifth inning. Maytorena hit another double and ran both batters in to make the score 7–2.

An eighth run was scored after an error in the infield off of a bunt. The ninth run was an RBI single by Lauren Gutierrez. Pacific was able to gain one last run in the final inning on an infield error off of a bunt. The final score was 9–3 Nevada.

Nevada also beat Seton Hall. They faced each other twice and Nevada beat them in the second game 3–1.

The fourth inning is where the magic started. With one batter hit by a pitch and the next walking, there were two batters on base for Bella Kordonowy. Kordonowy hit a single and bases were loaded. Chelie Senini walked and one run was made. A wild pitch led another run to come in. A third run was made after a sacrifice fly. Nevada was up 3–0.

Seton Hall did not end up getting a run until the last inning. A double and single put two batters on base and one ran in after a wild pitch. Nevada won 3–1.

The women lost their first game against Seton Hall 7–12. They also lost to Idaho State 0–4 and 7–9.

Nevada softball will be in San Luis Obispo, Calif. to play in the Cal Poly Tournament on March 12 and 13. They will face Pacific again in two games and Cal Poly in two games.
