A winter wonderland scene with snow on the ground, village lights and cozy restaurants is what a trip to Lake Tahoe can provide.

There are certain spots tourists need to visit in order to make a memorable trip. Incline Village is a central area to stay because it is a short drive to both the mountains and Lake Tahoe. It is located in North Lake Tahoe in Nevada.

Where to Stay

Renting out a cabin is going to make the vacation feel much more home-like. Incline Village has many cabins of multiple sizes to rent out. Bring some games to play and food to cook for a relaxing night in. A cabin with a hot tub is nice because it is a spot to stay warm and enjoy the outdoors even when it’s freezing outside.

There are many outside activities to do in less than a 30 minute drive from Incline Village.

Snow Activities

Mount Rose is a popular ski resort, although it can be a little pricey. There are options to rent ski and snowboards and other equipment if needed and also day passes for the lifts.

If snow sports aren’t of interest, there are places to go sledding, build snowmen and have snowball fights about 10 minutes from the resort.

Kings Beach is in California but is only a 10 minute drive from Incline Village. North Lake Boulevard has many shops and restaurants that have a cozy, warm feeling during the winter time. Photo by Kelsey Middleton.

The Village Food and Shops

After a day of activities, getting a nice big meal is next. A short 10 minute drive to Kings Beach, Calif. is where there is a village of restaurants. Jason’s Beachside Grille is a nice and cozy restaurant to eat at with a menu full of variety. The American food selling, lake view restaurant is also family friendly.

There are small shops along North Lake Boulevard to check out. There are small round lights that hang from pole to pole across the road that give the area a holiday movie feeling.

Snow on the beach is an interesting sight to see. People don’t usually go to the beach for snow but there are still things to do. Taking a walk and having a picnic are two ideas for sunset or sunrise beach activity. Photo by Kelsey Middleton.

Beach in the Winter

A calming outdoor activity to do is take a walk on the beach. A small parking fee may be required depending on where and when you go. Sand Habor is known for the large boulders sticking out of the water and along the beach.

There is a trail to walk up and around the area of Sand Habor. A sunrise or sunset walk is when the view of the lake is the best. There may be snow on the beach which is an interesting sight to see.

A picnic is a cheap function to do at the beach also. With lots of blankets and food, visitors can stay warm while still being on the beach in the winter time.

At all of these locations, the photography opportunities are great. Bring a camera and capture every moment of the winter Lake Tahoe trip.
